The Queen Elizabeth II Great Court  in the British Museum is the largest covered square in Europe. The roof designed by the architects Foster and Partners is a glass and steel construction with 1,656 uniquely shaped panes of glass. At the centre there is the Reading Room open to any member of the public who wishes to read there.
